Terms of Service
Effective October 15, 2026
These terms cover Forager, the optional hosted companion for Pantry Raider at forager.pantryraider.app. Forager is run by Dan Marafino, an individual doing business as Syracuse 3D Printing, in Syracuse, New York, USA. "We" and "us" mean him, and "you" means the person using Forager. By creating an account or using Forager you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. Questions go to support@pantryraider.app.
The Pantry Raider app you run at home is not covered by these terms. It comes with its own licence, the PolyForm Noncommercial License, and works without Forager.
1. Forager is in beta
Forager is new and still changing. Features may move, change, or occasionally break, and there may be downtime while we fix things. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 to use Forager. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and handle any payment.
- Use an email address you can receive mail at, and keep your password and sign-in methods to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us quickly if you think someone else is using it.
- Each copy of the app gets one free trial. Creating extra accounts to get more trials or more AI allowance is not allowed.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
3. Plans and billing
- Free trial. Each copy of the app gets one 30-day trial with the Premium allowance. It starts when you sign up from the app and confirm your email address, or, for an account made on this website, when you link your first kitchen. No card is needed, and the trial does not turn into a paid plan on its own. When it ends, your account stays open and the paid features stop until you subscribe.
- Paid plans. Prices are shown on the pricing page and on the checkout page before you pay. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly depending on the plan you pick, and renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Payments are taken by Stripe, which also sends your receipts. Prices are in US dollars, and any tax is added at checkout where it applies.
- AI allowance. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI use. It refills at the start of each calendar month, and unused allowance does not carry over. Forager may also pause AI features for everyone for the rest of a day if total use runs unusually high.
- Failed payments. If a renewal cannot be charged, Stripe will retry. If it still fails, your plan ends and the paid features stop until you subscribe again.
4. Refunds and cancellation
- Cancel any time. Cancel online from your account page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for and then does not renew. There is no cancellation fee.
- No partial refunds. We do not refund the unused part of a month or year when you cancel, except where the law requires it.
- First-charge refunds. If you are unhappy with Forager, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of your first charge for a plan by writing to support@pantryraider.app from the address on your account. We will look at every request and refund in good faith, for example when Forager did not work for you.
- Deleting your account. Deleting your account cancels any subscription right away instead of at the end of the period. If you are inside the 14-day window above, ask for your refund before you delete.
- If we end your plan. If we shut Forager down, or end your account without you having broken these terms, we refund the unused part of any period you paid for.
5. Price changes
We may change plan prices. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and it takes effect from your next renewal after that. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before then.
6. Using Forager fairly
Do not use Forager to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- share content you do not have the right to share, such as recipe text copied from a cookbook or website, or someone else's photos;
- share content that is hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or otherwise harmful, or that contains someone's personal information without their permission;
- send spam, including through recipe share emails;
- resell or share access to Forager's AI, use it for anything other than your own kitchen through Pantry Raider, or try to get around usage limits, trial limits, or the signup bot check;
- use remote access to host anything other than your own Pantry Raider kitchen;
- probe, overload, or break into Forager, or reach data that is not yours.
7. Recipes and photos you share
- You keep ownership. Recipes, photos, and text you share stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy, reformat, and display them as needed to run Forager: on share pages, in the community recipe library, on the pantryraider.app website, and in the Pantry Raider app. For share links this lasts until you turn the link off. For recipes you publish to the community it continues after you delete your account, with your name removed.
- Share links are public. Anyone who has a share link can open the recipe, so only share what you are happy for others to see.
- Reports and removal. Anyone can report a shared or community recipe. Recipes reported by several people are hidden automatically, and we may remove any content, or suspend sharing for an account, that breaks these terms.
- Copyright notices. If you believe a recipe or photo on Forager copies your work, email support@pantryraider.app with a link to it, the work you believe it copies, and how to reach you. We take the content down while the notice stands. If your content was taken down and you believe that was a mistake, reply to the same address with a counter notice, and a valid one puts it back. Accounts that repeatedly share infringing content will be closed.
8. AI results and food safety
Forager's AI reads photos, receipts, and recipes and makes suggestions. It can get things wrong: a product name, a quantity, a best-by date, or an ingredient. Always check what it produces, and use your own judgment about whether food is safe to eat, including allergens and storage. Shelf-life dates in Pantry Raider are estimates, not safety guarantees.
9. Your kitchen and your data
Your inventory and recipes live on your own device, and you are responsible for that device and for keeping your own backups. Forager's cloud backups are a convenience, not a guarantee. If you turn on remote access, your kitchen is reachable from the internet at its Forager address, so keep a password on it.
10. Suspending or ending accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. For anything other than serious or repeated abuse, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. We may change or stop offering features, and we may shut Forager down; if we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice by email, refund any prepaid time as described above, and give you a way to download your cloud backups. The Pantry Raider app keeps working on its own either way.
11. No warranty
As far as the law allows, Forager is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted service.
12. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, such as lost data, spoiled food, or lost profits, and our total liability to you for any claim about Forager is limited to the amount you paid us for Forager in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived by agreement.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Please contact us first so we can try to sort out any problem informally. Any dispute that cannot be sorted out that way goes to the state or federal courts located in Onondaga County, New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that matters, we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect and update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Forager after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account.
